I am a Senior Analyst - Applications at the Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO), with seven years experience in the IT sector. As part of a small IT team I have had the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills across many disciplines, including: programming, database work, writing specifications, SAP, user training and public speaking. My core value to the organization is the ability to understand business requirements and design technology focused solutions to meet the needs of the business.
My day-to-day work includes maintaining and developing the CFO Connects Portal to ensure an excellent user experience. CFO Connects Portal is CFO’s main point of contact with its farmer-members.
This site allows farmer-members to log their business transactions with CFO and chicken processing industry stakeholders. The CFO Connects Portal is critical to maintaining the chicken supply chain
and food safety within the multi-billion dollar chicken industry in Ontario. As CFO’s main point of contact with farmer-members
CFO Connects is always being developed to better serve the chicken industry.
Along with my work on CFO Connects I am also a key figure in the new data governance strategy being implemented by CFO. I have been able to use my SQL skills to create complex database queries to retrieve data
from multiple SAP data sources. This data is then presented in Power BI reports to internal CFO users and the Board of Directors to aid them in making informed business decisions. I am also the technical lead on
a data cataloguing and governance project, implementing the Alation toolset.
In 2013 CFO implemented SAP to run all of its operations, I have been an integral part of that transition as well as other projects throughout the organization. Including:
I have attended SAP’s Sapphire and TechEd events to remain up-to-date on new software and technology.
For potential incidents in the chicken industry CFO uses the Incident Management System (IMS). I have had the opportunity to complete IMS 200 and participate in simulated and real IMS events.
Bachelor of Science - Computer Engineering | 2009 - 2013
In my spare time I enjoy baking and am slowly working my way through the classic Joy of Cooking. I have done some traveling over the past few years, on business to attend SAP TechEd and Sapphire, as well a couple of solo excursions to Europe. These trips have given me ample opportunity to indulge in love for photography, you can check out my gallery here. I am always trying to learn new things and see different perspectives, so you can often find me tuned into a podcast or audiobook. Here are a couple of favourites:
